As of February 1, the savings put with Azeri banks by people amounted to AZN 805.4mln, up 63% from the same period last year.
The State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics that 72.5% of the savings were put in the foreign currency on deposit and 27.5% in the national currency. The figures rose 3.8% and 33.9% respectively from a year earlier.
62.7% of the savings were put in the private banks. The average exchange rate of Azeri manat was USD1/AZN 0.87, Ruble 100/AZN 3.31 and EUR1/AZN 1.14. The exchange rate of the national currency has remained stable against the dollar and euro since early January while slid 0.01 point against the ruble.
