The number of automobile imports to Azerbaijan has started to decline since the excise tax on imports effective January 1.
State Customs Committee deputy Chairman Safar Mehdiyev said some 10,000 vehicles were imported to Azerbaijan during two months and a half, down 25% from a year earlier, APA reports. 80,000 vehicles were brought to the country in 2006, up 30% from 2005 and twice from 2004.
