17 March 2007 [00:19] - Today.Az
A working group set up to coordinate a draft CIS Head-of-State Council resolution to facilitate transportation and guaranteed supply of hydrocarbons to the commonwealth's member states will hold a meeting in Moscow on March 21-22.

One of the key issues to be discussed there will be Ukraine's proposal to set up routes to transport light Caspian oil to Europe as proposed by Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko at a CIS summit in Kazan in August 2005.

Kiev believes that a transportation corridor for crude oil supplies to Europe may include Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine.

After the route and supply volumes have been agreed upon, Ukraine proposes to work out a common methodology for calculating tariffs for transporting Caspian oil. RBC
