Azerbaijan's Azerenergy and Russia's RAO EES (Unified Energy Systems) failed to reach agreement on the prices and amount of electricity supplies for Azerbaijan in 2007.

Azerenergy Vice-President Marlen Asgarov told APA the Baku meeting was unsuccessful.
He said that RAO EES agreed to Azerbaijan’s proposal on supply of 200 megawatts of electricity to Azerbaijan in peak consumption hours, but the parties couldn’t come to common agreement on prices.

RAO EES will make final decision on Dec. 30.

Azerbaijan is importing Russian electricity at a price of 3.6 cents per kilowatt for 2006, but Russia said it would charge Baku 4.1 cent per kilowatt.
