SOCAR has received the Citadel and Baki ships built to the Kaspmornefteflot/BUE Caspian's order. Kaspmornefteflot (Caspian Sea Oil Fleet) is SOCAR's oil fleet.

SOCAR's President, Abdullayev said the ships are the most up-to-date ones on the Caspian Sea. They will be used in the development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and Shah Deniz. The construction cost a total of $40 million.

The Citadel built by Simek in Norway is a supply ship. The Baki built in Singapore is a rescue ship.

By Jan. 1, 2006 the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet had 276 ships and 7 floating docks with a total balance value of AZN 480.1 million and a total cargo-lifting capacity of 86,100 tons. Turan
