Caspian Oil&Gas Field-2006 conference has started in Baku yesterday. The two-day conference is supported by Industry and Energy Ministry, SOCAR, International East Oil Academy, Oil and Gas Geotechnical Problems Scientific Research Institute.
Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev, opening the conference, said that the late Azad Mirzejanzade played great part in traditional organization of this conference. He said oil production is jumping in Azerbaijan year by year and lots of achievements have been gained in oil sector. But, there are some problems. Some prospective structures have not been explored yet. SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev briefed the participants on development of oil and gas fields. Saying the plan is to increase oil output to 30m tonnes this year, Mr. Abdullayev gave information about purification of oil-polluted territories in Absheron. SOCAR first vice-president Khoshbekht Yusifzade spoke on Academic Azad Mirzejanzade's heritage. BP representative Pol Clain made a report on South Caspian hydrocarbon potential and problems in exploration, APA reports.
