The World Trade Organization's requirements to Azerbaijan are very difficult, Deputy Foreign Minister, head of the negotiations group for WTO accession, Mahmud Mammadguliyev said.
"We are working hard to reach these requirements and to create our production fields in the domestic market and increase the competitiveness. In this case, our production will be able to withstand the competition," he said. Mammadguliyev said the issue concerning tariffs and duties are still under discussion but Azerbaijan submitted proposals on the issue on services. "A few problems have been left not agreed and we continue negotiations for this purpose," he said. Mammadguliyev also said some new bills will be adopted and some laws will be amended due to accession to the WTO. New laws on improvement of competition and business climate are being prepared at present, APA reports.
