McDermott began to dismiss the number of the Azerbaijani workers because of the end of projects.
150 workers were reduced from the company, Tebriz Shukurov, the chief of the Trade Union's Inspection Commission told the APA. He said that 60 percent of 1500 Azerbaijani workers will bedismissed. The company carries the reduction according to the Labour Code. "If we object, we will be against the law. The reductions are made because of the finished projects," Shukurov said. "The main task is to provide the workers with grant. I hope that the company will start to a new project soon and they will call back dismissed workers to McDermott," he said. The chairman of McDermott Public Affairs Department Talat Jafarov confessed the facts. Reduction does not mean that the company stopped working. "Our new offices started operating in other Caspian Country. But the main manufacture is in Azerbaijan," he said. He also confirmed the realization of new project. The official of the company said that they will give more information.
