As of October 2, 67 200 tonnes of cotton were harvested throughout the country. This figure is a 42.2% decrease as against the same period last year.
As APA reports, the reason is that 8.7% of the cotton fields (9 700 hectares) were not cultivated this year. 15 300 tonnes of cotton were harvested in Saatli, 7 500 tonnes in Sabirabad, 6 700 tonnes in Imishli, 6 600 tonnes in Barda and 5 200 tonnes in Bilasuvar.
