The Computer Incident Response Center (CERT.gov.az) of Azerbaijan's Special Communications and Information Security State Service (SCIS) has secured a position on the Board of Directors of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Computer Incident Response Centers (OIC-CERT) for a four-year term, Azernews reports.

During the 11th OIC-CERT General Meeting held in Muscat, Oman, member countries reviewed progress reports and discussed the 2023-2024 agenda. Murad Balayev, representing Azerbaijan, provided insights on the national efforts in the "Technology and Technology" sector, one of the organization’s strategic directions.

The Board of Directors also praised Azerbaijan's recent hosting of the first International Cyber Diplomacy Conference in the region, recognizing it as a landmark event underscoring the importance of cyber diplomacy in enhancing international information security.

OIC-CERT, founded to bolster cybersecurity capabilities among Islamic countries, now includes 66 members from 29 nations, with SCIS representing Azerbaijan on the Board for the past eight years.
