Environment defense organizations, which were against construction of the Megri-Shvanidzor-Kapan highway through Shikaogsky reserve, have not kept their word, stated Armenian Transportation and Communication Minister Andranik Manukyan.

He said that international and local organizations promised to provide funs, so that the roundabout way from the reserve could be finished, but have not provided any.

"The highway is already constructed in the roundabout way from the reserve, so we will probably need additional fund, that the Armenian government is ready to provide," noted the minister.

He said that the highway would be finished in November 2006.

In 2005, the government already spent $14.2 mln for the construction of the highway.
