Volume of savings of population in banks increased by AZN 87.4 million or 21.5% in comparison with the same period of the last year and amounted to AZN 494.1 million by February 1, 2006.
As APA informs, AZN 58 million (11.7%) of savings were banked in national currency and AZN 436.1 million (88.3%) in foreign currency. 55.4% (AZN 273.6 million) of it were savings put in private banks.
In February of the current year average exchange rate of manat up to 1 US dollar was AZN 0.91, up to 100 Russian rubles was AZN 3.24, and up to 1 euro was AZN 1.09. The same indicators were AZN 0.92, AZN 3.24 and AZN 1.10 at the beginning of the year, respectively.
