The Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev told journalists that Russian companies were mainly interested in the non-oil sector and some proposals had already been presented in this connection.
As APA reports, the Minister said that Russian companies intended to invest development of aluminum production, steel industry and other fields.
It should be noted that about 400 organizations and enterprises with participation of Russian capital are registered in Azerbaijan at present. 178 of them are joint ventures, 96 with 100% participation of Russian capital, and 126 branches and representations. Russian companies have invested more than $430 million in the economy of Azerbaijan so far.
