Service tests are currently implemented in Ceyhan terminal of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main oil export pipeline. After the tests the terminal will be completely ready to receive oil.

As APA reports according to the information given by the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), in general 10 million barrels of oil are required for filling the pipeline stretching in 1768 kilometers from Sangachal terminal to Ceyhan terminal of Turkey situated on the shore of the Aral Sea.

5 million barrels of oil pumped into the pipeline so far run by the 1070 kilometer Turkish part of the pipeline. Ceyhan consists of seven oil tanks and a berth 2 kilometers long which can simultaneously fill 2 tankers with 300 thousand tons of tonnage with oil.

It should be noted that oil pumped into the BTC will reach Ceyhan port in March. An official ceremony of opening of the Turkish part of the pipeline and Ceyhan terminal will be held after oil reaches Ceyhan and is pumped into the first tanker.
