Gas production from the Shahdeniz oil field will be started by the end of the 3rd term of 2006 and a part of gas produced from the well in the 4th term will be delivered to the state.

President of the "BP-Azerbaijan" company David Woodward noted that it is expected that 4 milliard cubic meters of directional gas will be produced from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli next year.

Initialy it was planned to to use part of ACG gas as fuel for works carried out on the field and the rest part to be pumped back into the layer. However, after the discussions with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) BP decided to coordinate with the state the question of how much of gas to be pumped into the layer and how much to be delivered to SOCAR.
