President of the "Azerenergy" Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Etibar Pirverdiyev announced yesterday that the government of Georgia began paying back its electric energy debt to Azerbaijan.

According to Pirverdiyev, the debt of Georgia for electric energy reached 160 million kwh. The neighboring country began paying its debt back and 128 million kwh of electric energy has already been returned back. The OJSC president saying that other 32 million kwh of electric energy will be returned in parts informed that "Azerenergy" did not wanted the debt to be paid in a monetary form.

It should be noted that the "Azerenergy" vice-president Marlen Asgarov said in an interview few days ago that if Georgia does not pay its energy debt back, Azerbaijan can appeal to an international court.
