The "Gasexport" company has already appealed to the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic to start discussions on a volume and cost of gas to be exported from Russia to Azerbaijan next year.
According to SOCAR, binded by the contract signed in December of the previous year, the Russian company had to deliver 4,5 milliard cubic meters of gas to our country at the price of $ 60 per thousand cubic meters, and $ 61 next year. However, the Russian side informed that gas will be sold to Azerbaijan as to other CIS countries at a higher price in 2006 that caused the SOCAR president Natig Aliyev to say that they will stop importing gas from Russia in case if the prices are raised.
