Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are about to sign an agreement on Kazakhstan pumping its oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
"Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan may sign an interstate agreement on joint oil pumping via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline by the end of the year”, said Natik Aliyev, the General Director of the General Director of BTC Co. According to Aliyev, the interstate agreement has been accorded with Kazakhstan and now the transport document is being developed.
“The agreement was submitted to all Ministries and relevant replies were received. There is no problem in this respect,” Aliyev noted. The shareholders of the Kashagan project committed to pump 7.5 million tons of oil in 2008-2009. The discharge capacity of the BTC is 50 million tons of oil per year. Trend
