Amount of trade circulation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in 2004 was 408 million dollars.
The information about it is given to APA from press service of State Customs Committee. During the report, goods in the amount of 183 million dollars were exported from Azerbaijan to Turkey, and this means an increase of 70% in contrast with 2003. Amount of import during this time increased 15% and reached to 225 million dollars. So, trade circulation of Azerbaijan with Turkey resulted with a negative balance of 42 million dollars.
It must be mentioned that, at the end of last year, Gurshad Tuzmen - State Minister of Turkey during his speech in the forum held in Baku with the participation of businessmen of two countries, stated that by the end of 2004, the amount of goods circulation between Azerbaijan and Turkey to reach to 500 million dollars. G.Tuzmen stating the both sides' not using their present potential, said that it's considered to reach the amount of goods circulation between countries to 1 billion dollars in a short period of time and to 3 billion dollars in nearest two years. He stressed the possibility of increasing the goods circulation to 5 billion dollars if some problems existing between countries are eliminated.
It must be added that, according to 2003 results, amount of trade circulation between Azerbaijan and Turkey was 302 million dollars.
