Azerbaijan has doubled its GDP since 1995 year, the survey on GDP growth in CIS countries conducted by the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee said.
Last year, Russia lost its economical weight in the post-soviet area more rapidly than in previous years. Whereas Russia ranked seventh for GDP growth in 2003, the country fell two spots down to ninth in 2004.
Last year, Azerbaijan's Gross Domestic Product was increased by 10,6 percent.
