Year 2017 turned out to be successful to some extent for the Azerbaijani banking sector, President of the Azerbaijan Banks Association (ABA) Zakir Nuriyev said at a ceremony to award banks and their partners in Baku on December 21.

Nuriyev added that despite 2017 was rather difficult, the measures that allow achieving the future goals were successfully implemented this year.

He stressed that this year banks have been able to restore their capital and the number of bank employees is growing again.

The awarding ceremony titled "Bank Awards" was held in Baku Dec. 21. Representatives of banks, the Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FIMSA), and media outlets attended the event.
