By Sara Israfilbayova Azerbaijan carried out trade operations with 183 countries in the amount of $20.3 billion during January-November 2017. The State Customs Committee reported that the export operations accounted for $12.5 billion or 61.61 percent, imports-$7.8 billion or 38.39 percent of the turnover. For 11 months of the year, the foreign trade surplus amounted to $4.7 billion. During this period 7,339 items of goods were imported into the country, 3,094 items of goods were exported. The volume of foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan for January-November of this year amounted to $16.03 billion, of which $8.31 billion were exported, $7.7 billion were imported. The positive balance of foreign trade turnover amounted to $598.18 million. Thus, in comparison with the same period of the previous year, trade turnover increased by 26.6 percent, exports-by 50.3 percent, imports-by 0.96 percent. The positive balance in annual terms increased 7.9 times. In 2016, Azerbaijan carried out export-import operations with 186 countries in the amount of $17.67 billion. During the period 7,328 items of goods worth $8.53 billion were imported into the country, 2,921 items of goods were exported in the amount of $9.14 billion. Thus, the positive balance of foreign trade turnover amounted to $610.83 million. Last year, 5,435 legal entities and 8,620 individuals took part in foreign trade operations.
