Communication and information technologies minister of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov met with Fuad Iskandarov, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Belgium and the head of Azerbaijan Representation at the European Union.
Abbasov and Iskandarov discussed expansion of relations on information technologies between Belgium and Azerbaijan.
According to the Ambassador, Belgium is much experienced in the field of information technology, as well as in postal services among the EU member states, and there are enough prospects for cooperation with Azerbaijan that becomes regional leader in this sphere.
The Ambassador stressed importance and necessity of the expansion of cooperation with Belgium, taking into account that EU’s headquarters is located here, he added that this cooperation will boost the relations with other European Union member countries in politics, as well as in IT sphere.
At his words, the European Commissioner for Digital Agenda Neelie Kroes will also take part at the forthcoming Internet Management Forum in Baku due in November current year initiated by the Azerbaijan Government. The Commissioner’s visit could stipulate new spheres of cooperation between Azerbaijan and EU, the Ambassador underlined.
