As of Aug.1, the number of gas subscribers in Azerbaijan is 1.423 million people , the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said on Wednesday.
According to the report, 1.406 million from a total number of subscribers account for population group 17,522 - other subscribers.
Some 641,472 (632,115 of population) of the total number of gas subscribers accounted for Baku, 782,286 people (774,121 of population) - the rest regions of the country.
Azerigas Production Association of SOCAR deals with issues of transportation and sale of gas in Azerbaijan.
