National Water operator JSC Azersu and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has agreed the terms of financing the project on reconstruction of water supply and sanitation services in the regions of Azerbaijan, the loan agreement on which will be signed after a visit of the mission of the bank, Azersu said on Monday.
Vice-President of JSC Azersu Ilgar Tagiyev praised the cooperation of the bank in the projects of reconstruction of water supply and sanitation. Head of the delegation of IDB Papa Su expressed in turn his support for the project, and the interest of the bank in financing infrastructure projects in the country.
The reconstruction of the sewerage and water supply in order to ensure sustainable water supply for a total of 320,000 people Astara, Dashkesan, Samukh, Gedebey, Gazakh and Tartar areas is planned in the frame of the project.
Azersu has began the work without waiting for the allocation of credit from the IDB at the expense of funds allocated by the Government of Azerbaijan in order to accelerate the implementation of the project.
Seven thousand new working places will be opened in addition to the ensure water supply in the result of the project.
