Korea displays a strong interest in participating in the development of Azerbaijan's industrial sector, Korean Industrial Equipment Manufacturers Association President Sung Ok Lee said during the first Azerbaijani-Korean Industrial Forum in Baku on Tuesday.

He said Korean companies maintained their positions despite the global financial crisis, and have extensive experience and capabilities to participate in the development of industrial sector in Azerbaijan.

"The Industrial Forum organized in Baku plays an important role in the development of cooperation between our countries," Lee said.

As Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Gulmammad Javadov said at the Forum, Azerbaijan's economic development is at a high level in recent years. Active work is underway for the development of industrial production and production of competitive products in the country.

"From this point of view, work is underway to establish cooperation with many countries, particularly with Korea," Javadov said.

Javadov called textile industry, waste management, production of household goods, lamps, building materials and other fields among spheres, in which Korean companies can be involved.
