Azerbaijani Consulate General: Kazakh official bodies did not confirm news about detention of two Azerbaijani vessels

The official Kazakh bodies did not confirm information about the detention of two Azerbaijani poaching vessels in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea. The official structures of Kazakhstan did not confirm information about the detention of two Azerbaijani vessels, on board of which allegedly were18 Azerbaijani citizens, the Azerbaijani Consulate General in Aktau told Trend.  

Two Azerbaijani poaching vessels with more than 500 kilograms of fish sturgeon were detained in the Caspian Sea, Atyrau Region Interior Department Spokeswoman Gulnazira Mukhtarova told Kazakhstan Today agency earlier.

"During the joint operation of the interior departments, environmental prosecutors, border guards of the national security committee and other services in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, two Azerbaijani vessels with 18 Azerbaijani citizens were detained. According to preliminary calculations, there were more than 500 kilograms of fish sturgeon in the holds of ships," Mukhtarova said.

Azerbaijani Consulate General in Aktau appealed to the relevant structures, but, neither Kazakh structure approved the information, the consulate general said.
