Azeri volleyball clubs win first matches of Champion Leagues qualification round

Azerbaijani female volleyball club “Azerrail” played the first match in the qualification round of the Champions League.

News.Az reports that in the away game, the club faced local “Tomis” in Romanian Constanta. Thus, “Azerrail” gained a grand slam victory with 3:0 (25:19, 25:18, 25:22). Other clubs of group D, which the Azeri club plays in, Italian “Bergamo” and Turkish “Vakifbank TTelekom” will have a match today. “Azerrail” will have the next match versus “Bergamo” on 7 December in Baku.

Meanwhile, another Azerbaijani club “Igtisadchi” had the first 1/16 match of CEV Cup final against Romanian “Dinamo Romprest” from Bucharest. The game held in the Baku Sport Complex ended up with a full victory of the Azerbaijani club - 3:0 (25:16, 25:21, 25:10).

The return match will be held on 7 December on Bucharest at 20:00 Baku time. Winner of that round (1/8) will face “Yamamai” (Italy) and “Cannes” (France).
