AFFA to decide on Berti Vogts' future

The position of the national team coach tops the agenda for today's meeting of Azerbaijan's football authorities AFFA. AFFA's executive committee is to meet at the head office of the State Oil Company at 13.00 (0900 GMT).

Berti Vogts' contract as chief coach to the Azerbaijani national side runs out at the end of this year. German newspaper the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung said last month that it did not expect Vogts to extend his contract.

Vogts has coached Azerbaijan to a record seven points in an international qualifying campaign. The height of his tenure so far was Azerbaijan's 1-0 victory over Turkey in a Euro-2012 qualifier.
