Azerbaijani female sambo wrestlers enter the World Championship playoffs

Belgian city of Gand hosted a World Cup in sambo wrestling. In female tournament, Azerbaijani wrestlers successfully passed the group stage and went through to the playoff.

In 1/64 final, Sabina Mikina lost to American Mariel Zagunis with 8:15 and Sevil Bunyatova to Polish Matilda Ostoyska with 11:15. As a result, Buniyatova ranked 37th amid 165 wrestlers and Mikina 64th.  

Italian Irene Vecci won the first place defeating American Dagmar Voznyak in the final with 15:12.
