Azerbaijani judokas to vie for European Championship in Istanbul

Five Azerbaijani judoists will perform on the first day of the European Championship in Istanbul.

According to azerisport.com, in the male tournament, the main focus will be on 60 kg. World bronze medalist Nijat Shikhalizade and winner of "WorldMasters" Ilgar Mushkiyev (60 kg) will be among the performers. In the first bout, He will face British Ashley Mackenzie.  

In 66 kg category Azerbaijan is presented by two judoists: Samir Dadashzade will face Romanian Laslo Jokee and Tarlan Karimov French David Laros. 

In the female tournament Azerbaijan’s hopes will be pinned on Kifayat Gasimova (57 kg).
Note that the European Championship has a licensed status. Its winners will gain 180 rating points.
