Azerbaijan and Russia sign agreement in sports sphere

Heads of National Olympic Committees and Sport Ministers of Commonwealth of Independent States, Baltic states and Eastern Europe states held a meeting in Sochi, Youth and Sport Ministry Spokesman Samaya Mammadova said.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Ismayil Ismayilov represented Azerbaijan at the meeting.

Ismayilov held meetings with several officials of different states at the event attended by the representatives of more than 20 countries. He got acquainted with preparation process of Winter Olympics Games to be organized in Sochi in 2014.

Within the framework of the visit, Ismayilov and President of Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov signed an agreement on mutual cooperation in sport sphere. The agreement includes holding of training assembly, protection of trainers’ rights, propaganda of sport, organization of sport competitions and etc.
