Azerbaijani academic rowers to participate in German training competitions

Azerbaijani academic rowers will participate in the training competitions to be held in Germany, the Azerbaijani National Rowing Federation said.

According to the federation, in 2011, the Azerbaijani academic rowers will participate in training competitions abroad.

Roughly 13 sportsmen will go to winter competitions in the German city of Breitenbrunn, led by head coach of the national team Rudiger Hauffe and his aides Samir Mammadov and Sergey Proda on Jan. 3.

Women will also be participating in the competitions. The newcomers Angelina Angeluns and Alena Kaporeyko, as well as more experienced ones Chepikova Victoria, Natalya Natoka and Natalia Lyalchuk are being counted among Azerbaijan's star performers.

With the ages of the national team includes rowers ranging from 18-23 years, the team includes finalists of the world championships Alexander Glotov, Javid Efendiev and Igor Khmara, as well as those players who shined in international tournaments, including Fuad Mirzoyev, Novruz Aliyev, Bayram Aliyev, Gardashhan Huseynli and Kamal Khanlarov.

Winter competitions will continue till Jan. 22 , with main focus on physical training.
