Azerbaijani wrestling team ranks 1st at the free-style wrestling tournament in Kyiv

The Azerbaijan team ranked first in the medal table at the second international junior free-style wrestling tournament held here in memory of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and in celebration of World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day.

Gold medals came from Vurgun Aliyev, Ruslan Surkhayev, Ruslan Aslanov and Mammadhuseyn Hasanov, silver medals from Joshgun Mammadov, Ruslan Gasimov, Magomed Hasanzade, Elshan Alkhanov and Akshin Mammadov and bronze medals from Roman Guliyev and Oktay Jamshidli.

The competition was organized by chairman of the Kyiv branch of the Ukrainian Azerbaijanis Congress, Oleg Krapivin and supported by Ukraine-Azerbaijan Education, Scientific-Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev, Ministry of Science and Education, Youth and Sport and National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.

The tournament brought together over 200 young wrestlers from Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus and Moldova.
