Azerbaijan stuns Turkey in Euro 2012 qualifer - PHOTOS

Rashad Sadygov struck in the first half to edge Azerbaijan past Turkey 1-0 in their 2012 European Championship qualifying match Tuesday.

The hosts' captain slotted the ball low through a crowded penalty box on 35 minutes after an imaginative set play that saw two forwards dummy the ball with step-overs from a corner.

Turkey had the majority of possession and carved out several clear-cut chances but failed to beat Azerbaijan goalkeeper Kamran Agayev. The visitors came closest in the 25th, with Hamit Altintop's thunderous drive from 30 meters smashing against the crossbar.

The surprise win marks Azerbaijan's first points in Group A after three games. Turkey's second loss in four games leaves them on six points.
