Azerbaijani chess player wins at European chess championship

Azerbaijani female chess player Zeynab Mammadyarova defeated the Armenian rival.
She has beaten Armenian Anahit Kharatyan in the fifth round of the European chess championship in Rijeka.

The win took Zeynab to 118th with two points. She is lagging behind her fellow Azerbaijani competitors Gulnar Mammadova (73rd), Turkan Mammadyarova (85th) and Khayala Isgandarova (92nd).

Rauf Mammadov drew with Nikita Mayorov of Belarus in the fifth round and is now in 18th place with four points.

Eltaj Safarli and Nijat Mammadov, who have 3.5 points, stand 61st and 83rd out of the 408 male competitors.
