Azerbaijan to host bullet shooting World Cup in 2020

Azerbaijan has received the right to hold a round of the World Cup in bullet shooting in 2020.

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Shooting Sport was held in Vienna (Austria) on October 11.

Press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sports reported that the International Shooting Federation officially approved Azerbaijan as the organizer of the prestigious shooting tournament.

The Shooting Federation of Azerbaijan was appointed the official organizer of the round of the World Cup in shooting, which is to be held in Gabala in 2020.

Competitions will be held on ten kinds of Olympic sports shooting.

The World Cup will be held on June 19-27, 2020 and it will be the last World Cup before the start of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Before the start of the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, the last World Cup was held in Baku.

It is expected that about 600 athletes from more than 70 countries will take part in the World Cup. Among them will be world-famous archers, world and European champions, winners of the Olympic Games.

In 2017, the Azerbaijani capital became the organizer of the European Championship in bullet shooting. In addition, Baku hosted the 2016 World Cup round in bullet shooting.
