“Azerbaijan has basis to develop women's artistic gymnastics”

There are many talented children in Azerbaijan, and the country has the necessary basis for the development of women's artistic gymnastics, Lyubov Burda, a member of the Women’s Technical Committee of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG) for the women's artistic gymnastics, two-time Olympic champion, told Trend Nov. 26.

She said that rules of artistic gymnastics are updated every four years following the Olympic Games.

“The purpose of our visit is to convey to your [Azerbaijan’s] coaches and referees all the innovations that will be introduced during the next Olympic Games,” she added. “We also brought a professional, a coach of Russia’s youth team and a female gymnast for demonstration, so that your coaches could learn some new technical elements and other nuances of technical training.”

Burda noted that the Russian delegation got the most pleasant impressions from their visit to Baku.
