The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has allocated three Olympic slots to compete at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games to Azerbaijan as IPC is redistributing 267 spots that had been secured by Russian athletes following the Court of Arbitration for Sport`s dismissing an appeal by the Russian Paralympic Committee against its suspension.
This means that Azerbaijan will send a 27-strong team to Rio, with the three additions being female judo fighter Afag Sultanova, judoka Ramin Aliyev and athlete Huseyn Huseynov.
