European Deaf Chess Championship opens in Baku

The opening ceremony of the European Deaf Chess Championship kicked off on September 28 in Baku.

The championship will bring together talented players from 11 countries. The team captain must submit a list of players of the team in a fixed board order at the beginning of the tournament. This board order may not be changed during the tournament.

The opening ceremony of the championship was attended by the President of the European Chess Union Zurab Azmaiparashvili, the head of the Azerbaijani Chess Federation Mahir Mammadov and the Youth and Sports Ministry sections head Aydin Mammadov.

This is the first time when the European Deaf Chess Championship is held in Baku.

Competitions will be held at the Republican Chess Center and will last four days.

The competition is conducted in accordance with FIDE Law of Chess and ICCD Statutes and Regulations.
