Sometimes art imitates life. Sometimes it is a game like chess. There are a lot of similarities between chess and politics. It's just a weird analogy, lingering over the centuries. Chess was born in the Asian sub-continent, and then moved to Persia (checkmate from Persian means the king is dead). It got its most widespread fame during the Arab conquest, from the 17th century AD.

The world of chess is enigmatic, mysterious and unpredictable. It does not leave anyone indifferent. Having tried just once the play, you can not forget about it. How nice it is to play a game of chess, giving yourself up to the end, without thinking about problems.

Azerbaijan is proud of its tactical and aggressive chess player, Shahriyar Mammadyarov who always distinguishes himself from others with his smart mind and the ability to find a way out of a difficult situation in the game.

Mammadyarov achieved his world fame from the very young age. This once again proves his persistence and extraordinary abilities to fight with world great chess players.

The fact that he is the only player in the world, having become world champion under 20 year old twice, speaks for itself.

It is no accident that he has such abilities, as Mammadyarov's family is composed from very talented people. His personal trainer is his father, who is a former boxer. Mammadyarov has two sisters, Zeynab Mammadyarova and Turkan Mammadyarova, who are Woman Grandmasters, therefore, all in his family are well aware of chess rules. This is amazing, as nothing like a family can support one player in difficult matches.

He believes that chess is his fate, for the sake of which he has sacrificed all his childhood.

"I sacrificed my childhood for the sake of chess. I trained up to 10-13 hours a day until 17-18 year old," he said. "I sometimes think about what chess gave me. And I understand that the sport took me more than it could give me in return."

However, he does not regret a bit about linking his life with this specific and very complex kind of sport. Notwithstanding, he has decided some times to take a short break in his career but his love and devotion to chess made him come back to this sport without which he no longer imagines his life.

"I would like to do more rest and enjoy the youthfulness like my peers and not devote all my time to chess. But eventually I realized that it is just simply impossible and I have to return to the sport and to make up leeway," the world champion in rapid chess noted.

The two-fold European champion is not fearful of failures, thinking that they make people stronger. Based on an expression that each wrong step brings wisdom, Shahriyar considers a person should make a lesson of them and confidently move on.

Young Shahriyar's chess career is developing rapidly, what leaves no doubt that he takes honorable place among the influential players in the world. With the gift of intuition, a bright vision he still has plenty of time to show more great games.
