ETU ups category of Azerbaijan Triathlon Federation

The European Triathlon Union (ETU) has increased the classification category of the Azerbaijan Triathlon Federation, ETU President Renato Bertrandi said in his letter to the Azerbaijani Triathlon Federation.

He noted that during the meeting in Brussels the Development Committee of the ETU discussed the issue of classification of national associations.

The ETU Executive Committee increased Azerbaijan`s category from level 2 to level 3. This estimation is based on the development of triathlon and the achievements of the federation.

Bertrandi also hailed the development of triathlon in Azerbaijan.

The European Triathlon Union (ETU) was established in 1984 to develop the future of triathlon across Europe. There are currently forty two national federations affiliated to the ETU and that number is steadily increasing as we work hard to continue to develop and support emerging national federations.

The ETU is the European governing body for the Olympic sport of Triathlon and for all related multisport such as Paratriathlon, Aquathlon, Duathlon, Long Distance Triathlon, Long Distance Duathlon, Cross Triathlon and Winter Triathlon.

The ETU is recognized by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) as the Continental Confederation in Europe.
