Iker puts signature under ayern clash

24 April 2014 [15:50] - TODAY.AZ
What would a big Real Madrid game be without a great save from Iker Casillas? It came in the 84th minute with Real defending a one goal lead when a mistake by Luka Modric let Mario Götze in on the edge of the six yard box with just the keeper to beat.

However, the shot from the German could not beat Casillas and the Bernabéu crowd sang out loud yet again the name of its club captain.

Real Madrid had enjoyed four chances to double their lead before the return leg to be played in the Allianz Arena, but Cristiano Ronaldo, on three separate occasions, and Angel Di María were not capable of adding to the side's early lead from a Karim Benzema goal.

Bayern had dominated for long periods but without creating chances, although their best was to come at the end. But there was Casillas again, solid as ever on the big stage.

At the end the Bernabéu showed its appreciation for the keeper as he exchanged shirts with former colleague Arjen Robben.
