Kaka hopeful for World Cup call

20 January 2014 [12:30] - TODAY.AZ
On Sunday Kaká said that he still harbours hopes of being called up by Brazil coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari, for the World Cup to be played between June and July.

In an interview with Globo TV, Kaká said his "goal" is to go to the World Cup and that all his "planning", including his departure from Real Madrid and his return to Milan, were all part of achieving that goal.

"I hope to be on the final list. I don't know what it will be like, it's getting tougher and tougher. The Confederations Cup helped form a group," the AC Milan star admitted.

Kaká said he was both pleased and encouraged by Scolari's words regarding the possibility of calling him up again in the future, but that he hasn't spoken with the coach since his last call-up.

His last match with the national team was a friendly against Russia played in March last year, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Brazilian said he is currently playing at "75 % to 80 %" of his physical form and stressed that his return to Milan was "important" because it helped him recover "the joy and pleasure of playing football."

Regarding his departure from Real Madrid last September, the midfielder says he does not blame Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, for keeping him on the bench and that he has no hard feelings.

"I have no regrets. It was a great life experience. It made me grow and mature. They were four difficult years professionally speaking, but I learned a lot both on a personal and a professional level," he added.
