Ronaldo eyes third 'world ball'

17 January 2014 [10:41] - TODAY.AZ
Cristiano Ronaldo has no intention of stopping at two, and is already thinking about a third Ballon d'Or. The Portuguese told 'FIFA.com', "I hope to be back next year to win the third Ballon d'Or of my career."

The Portuguese star acknowledged the importance of the award. "Winning a second Ballon d'Or was what I yearned for most and finding out I'd won made me extremely happy. I felt very proud," admitted the Real Madrid goal machine.

Cristiano was honoured to have been handed the trophy by Platini and Pelé, two of the most important players in the history of football: "They were truly great players in the past, great legends: it's a huge privilege to be handed this by them."

He also wished to express his gratitude and dedicate the award to "all my team-mates from Real Madrid and the national side, because you can't win individual awards without working as a team. And the same goes to my coaches for club and country, for the trust they had in me."
