Stunning performance of Azerbaijani gymnasts in Europe

Azerbaijani gymnasts delivered successful performances at various tournaments in Europe.

Azerbaijani athlete Marina Durunda was successful at the second tour of the traditional Italian championship in the A1 series, Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation said.

The Armonia d'Abruzzo club came out the winner due to Durunda's outstanding performance. Durunda got 17.8 points in the exercise with a ball, which was the highest result among teammates and the second highest one in the league.

Armonia d'Abruzzo got a total of 100.95 points in the second tour of the championship, and is ahead of the Gymnastics team from the Italian city of San Giorgio, led by Ukrainian world champion from Hanna Rizatdinova.

The third tour will be held on November 16.

Azerbaijani athletes from Neftchi team successfully performed at the international tournament for juniors in Budapest, winning three gold and two silver medals.

Arzu Jalilova won the tournament in the multisport race and exercise without any object, and another Azerbaijani gymnast Aziza Bayram became a champion in the exercise with the ball. Daniz Yusubova won the silver medal for the exercise with a rope.

Also, Azerbaijani athletes Kamran Hajiyev and Anton Yashin won four gold and three silver medals in the tournament held in Vladimir, Russia, in the area of artistic gymnastics.

Hajiyev was chosen as the best athlete by the judges in the finals on the parallel bars, horizontal bar, and vault.

Yashin came out the winner in the freestyle exercises and rings, and Hajiyev got second place.
