Azerbaijani karate fighters win 8 world medals in Tokyo

Azerbaijani fighters have garnered a clutch of 8 medals, including 2 golds at the Karate-do World Championships (WSKF) in Tokyo, Japan.

Gold medals came from Panah Abdullayev and Firdovsi Farzaliyev in the kumite event.

Mehman Eynalov and Orkhan Heydarli won silver medal in the cui kumite event and open kumite event respectively, while Fuad Aliyev grabbed bronze in the shobu ippon kumite event.

In the kumite event, Mehman Eynalov, Fuad Aliyev and Orkhan Heydarli gained bronze medals.

Azerbaijani master taekwondo fighter Ahmad Humbatov climbed on to the winner`s rostrum in the tournament.

The tournament brought together 700 fighters from 33 countries.
