Neymar not to prolong Santos contract

Neymar's days in Brazilian football look to be numbered. "He has informed us that he won't be renewing his deal because his time at Santos has come to an end", the Brazilian club's vice-president, Odilio Rodriguez, told Spanish radio station 'Cadena Ser' live on air.

Rodríguez's comments seem to pave the way for the starlet's departure. Several top European teams have long targeted the talented forward, whose father recently claimed that there is a good chance his son could end up at Barcelona.

Neymar is under contract until the end of next season, meaning the Brazilians will have to start negotiations over the next few months if they want to avoid losing their star name for free.
