Two Azerbaijani GMs among top 10 chess masters

The World Chess Federation has published the March edition of the FIDE rating list. Magnus Carlsen continues at the top position with 2872, maintaining the same rating as during the February rating list. There was no change in the order of the top 10 at all.

The leader of the Azerbaijani chess, grandmaster Teymor Rajabov retained his spot in the new ranking of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). Rajabov takes 4th place with 2793 points.
Azeri grandmasters Shahriyar Mammadyarov and Vugar Hashimov rank the 9th and 19th places in the world rating respectively.

Another Azerbaijani chess player Rauf Mammadov appeared at 50th position with 2662 ELO.
Eltaj Safarli (2638), Gadir Huseynov (2623), Nijat Mammadov (2602) and Vusal Durarbayli (2597) remain the same rating.

A total of 52 players are now at the 2700 club, with the average rating of the top 100 list remaining at 2703.

Gulnar Mammadova remains the status “the best Azerbaijani chess player” with 2360 points.
In a rating among countries, Azerbaijan ranks the 8th place.
