Azerbaijani Olympians pay respect to National Leader Heydar Aliyev - PHOTOS

Azerbaijani Olympians, who returned home, visited the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev, erected in front of the palace named after him.

This morning, Azerbaijani sportsmen - participants of XXX Summer Olympic Games in London, returned home.

Athletes were welcomed by members the public and sports federations at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku.

Azerbaijan's Olympic team was represented by 53 athletes in 16 sports at the London Olympics.

Our athletes won 10 medals, including 2 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze.

Togrul Asgerov and Sharif Sharifov became the Olympic champions among free-style wrestlers; while Khetag Gazyumov won bronze medal.

Rovshan Bayramov won silver medal in Greco-Roman wrestling, Emin Mammadov - bronze.

Our female wrestlers also returned home with medals. Mariya Stadnik won silver medal, Julia Ratkevich - bronze.

Boxers Teymur Mammadov and Magomedrasul Majidov won bronze medals at the Olympics.

Weightlifter Valentin Hristov also won bronze medal.
